Management Committee & Governance

The Management Committee provides governance, strategic oversight, and leadership for the Goldfields Community Legal Centre.

Committee members are volunteers elected by GCLC's membership at the Annual General Meeting. They bring a range of professional skills and community knowledge to guide the organisation's strategic direction and ensure accountability to clients, funders, and the broader community.

Tanya Chambers

Tanya Chambers is the Director of Curtin University's Kalgoorlie Campus and brings over 12 years of senior leadership experience across campus, faculty, and school-level roles.

Robert Hicks — Deputy Chairperson

Robert Hicks

Robert Hicks was co-opted to the Committee in May 2025. He has lived most of his life in Kalgoorlie and brings an impressive background in senior management across state and local government, not-for-profit, and corporate sectors.

Ashleigh Beales is a Kalgoorlie-based small business owner with strong experience in governance, leadership, and community engagement across regional Western Australia.

How We Operate

Governance & Structure

The Goldfields Community Legal Centre Inc. is a not-for-profit incorporated association registered in Western Australia. We operate under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA) and are governed by our Constitution.

The Management Committee is elected by members at the Annual General Meeting. It is responsible for setting strategic direction, financial oversight, and ensuring the organisation fulfils its obligations to clients, funders, and the broader community.

All committee members serve as volunteers. Day-to-day operations are managed by the CEO and the staff team.
