Delivering Stronger Communities Through Partnership

Strong communities are built on leadership, collaboration, and a clear commitment to supporting people where they need it most.

The recent signing of the three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Goldfields Community Legal Centre (GCLC) and the Shire of Laverton is a powerful example of what can be achieved when organisations work together with purpose. This partnership will strengthen access to justice and ensure that residents in remote areas are not left behind.

Leadership That Sets a Benchmark

The Shire of Laverton continues to demonstrate outstanding leadership and sets a benchmark across the Goldfields-Esperance region. Its willingness to invest in partnerships and prioritise community wellbeing reflects the kind of forward-thinking we need more of — to get through to communities that need it most.

I acknowledge the Acting CEO Jackie for their commitment to delivering essential services, along with Ina (CRC Manager) and the President and Councillors of Laverton for their leadership in making this partnership a reality.

Conversations That Matter

Equally important was the screening of Just a Farmer, a film that speaks directly to the realities of rural life and mental health. These conversations matter, and they must continue.

As leaders, our responsibility is clear: to listen, to act, and to ensure no one in our community feels unsupported.

Together, we can continue building a stronger, more connected Goldfields-Esperance region.
