Empowering Youth in the Goldfields

The Goldfields Community Legal Centre (GCLC) is proud to have received funding from the Department of Communities to deliver the Goldfields Youth Employment Education Program (GYEEP). This initiative is designed to empower young people aged 17 to 25 by equipping them with essential work readiness skills and connecting them with employment opportunities across the Goldfields region.

Building Confidence and Capability

The program focuses on building confidence and capability through tailored support, including resume and cover letter preparation, interview skills, graduate program readiness, and guidance on adapting to the local job market. Participants also benefit from hands-on learning experiences and ongoing mentorship to support their transition into employment.

Connecting Young People with Industry

Throughout the program, GCLC has delivered a range of industry-focused workshops, providing participants with valuable opportunities to engage directly with mining companies and local businesses. These connections help bridge the gap between training and employment while giving young people insight into potential career pathways.

Removing Financial Barriers

A recent highlight of the program was the successful completion of a Riklan First Aid course, equipping participants with vital lifesaving skills. In partnership with Training Alliance Group (TAG), GCLC has also supported Transition to Work (TTW) clients by providing personal protective equipment (PPE) for those undertaking a Certificate in Civil Construction. This support plays a critical role in removing financial barriers and enabling participants to fully engage in their training and future employment opportunities.

Long-Term Success for Young People

Through initiatives like GYEEP, GCLC continues to foster pathways to employment, build confidence, and support the long-term success of young people in the Goldfields community.
